Warriors in search of fourth position and a semi-final place, for RP-SG Mavericks, major contenders for top spot in the initial stage, the teams clash on Monday 25th June in what is the concluding tie in New Delhi.
RP-SG Mavericks enter the contest with 37 points, the player very much to thank for the total being Doo Hoi Kem, the young lady from Hong Kong being ever more consistent. A three-nil defeat at the hands of Elizabeta Samara when facing Maharashtra United but otherwise it has been a series of wins.
Overall in Women’s Singles matches the total reads five games won with a further five having been secured when partnering Harmeet Desai in the Mixed Doubles.
Similarly, Sabine Winter has proved invaluable to the RP-SG Mavericks aspirations, a total of seven games won, all in Women’s Singles matches have added to the cause.
Meanwhile, for men, Mattias Karlsson has won six games whilst in addition to the Mixed Doubles Harmeet Desai has consistently added to the total, a four games record is in his locker.
Somewhat differently, Warriors have not really achieved the heights expected when considering the quality of their premier male players in the guise of Chuang Chih-Yuan, Quadri Aruna and Sharath Kamal Achanta. All are listed within the top 100 of the Men’s World Rankings but have really yet to blossom.
In Men’s Singles matches Chuang Chih-Yuan and Quadri Aruna have each five games each against their names, for Sharath Kamal Achanta, the number is just three.
Undoubtedly the premier player for the Warriors has been Sofia Polcanova; six games won in Women’s Singles match out of a possible nine. Furthermore, two of three lost have been on the “golden point” when facing Bernadette Szocs.
Most impressive from Sofia Polcanova, from Hana Matelova it has been safe and secure; five games won out of a possible six in Women’s Singles contests.
