The teams will have a player pool of 68 players to pick from and a bidding purse of INR 2,50,000 to use in the auction.
Commenting on TTSL, Vita Dani, Co-Promoter, UTT, said: “TTSL is another key cog in the machine for us to strengthen the foundation for table tennis in the country. The tournament comes back after 2019 to provide state-level players a competitive opportunity in front of home crowd and a pathway to higher levels of the sport. TTSL Maharashtra is a building block in this mission, and the aim is to take this across states.”
UTT has played a key role of a catalyst over the years to fuel Indian table tennis by supporting domestic competitions across all age categories–from zonals to the inter-state and the national championship–and brought world-class table tennis to India with the domestic table tennis league, which will soon host its sixth edition.
UTT has also partnered with stakeholders to bring top-tier international tournaments, like the WTT Star Contender Chennai 2025, to India which will witness some of the world’s best paddlers compete and create new benchmarks for the growth of Indian table tennis. With the TTSL, UTT will expand a similar competitive and excellence platform to the state level, highlighting emerging players and creating a pathway for the future.
