After they missed victory by just a whisker, Maharashtra United will gather their strength in search of their first win of the CEAT Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT) Season 2 as they face RPSG Mavericks in Tie 4. The Mavericks, on the other hand, will be oozing confidence, after registering a powerful 13-8 win over Empowerji Challengers.
Lily Zhang and Kristian Karlsson were the only two United paddlers to have won their respective singles matches in the previous tie and will be the driving force in their lineup. For the Indian women’s player, they will either continue with Madhurika Patkar or can try young Selena Selvakumara. Amalraj Anthony, Elizabeta Samara and skipper Joao Monteiro will be eager to win in their segments.
Mavericks had a nearly flawless start to their journey. Starting from Ayhika Mukherjee, Mattias Karlsson, to Doo Hoi Kem and Sabine Winter – everyone aced in their respective singles matches. Skipper Harmeet Desai won the team the doubles with Doo but was outwitted in the singles. He will have to up his game, similar to the talented Kou Lei, who took some time to find his feet against Manav Thakkar in the previous game. The Mavericks also have experienced Mouma Das and young Siddhesh Pande in the squad.
