WTT Feeder Series 2026: Unseeded Anusha Kutumbale continues dream run to reach semis
Vadodara, January 10: Anusha Kutumbale continued her breakthrough run in the WTT Feeder Series 2026, presented by Sports Authority of Gujarat, at the SAMA Indoor Sports Complex here on Saturday with a convincing victory over fourth seed Yashaswini Ghorpade to reach the women's singles semifinals.
The inaugural edition of the WTT Feeder Series in Vadodara, presented by Sports Authority of Gujarat, is being hosted by Table Tennis Association of Baroda and implemented by UTT.
Anusha, who had beaten sixth seed Lee Zion in the second round, defeated Yashaswini 11-9, 8-11, 11-3, 11-7 in 32 minutes to set up a semi-final clash against Olympian Sutirtha Mukherjee, who upset top seed Yang Ha Eun of Korea Republic 11-7, 11-8, 7-11, 11-8 in the other quarterfinals.
The other semi-final will see Korean Republic’s Ryu Hanna and eighth seed Syndrela Das.
Sutirtha, partnering Ayhika Mukherjee, defeated Korea Republic’s Park Gahyeon and Lee Zion 11-8, 11-3, 11-9 and will now vie for the women’s doubles title against top seeds Yoo Yerin and Ryu.
Men’s singles top seed Manush Shah continued to march toward the title round with a 12-10, 11-5, 4-11, 11-8 over U-19 singles winner of WTT Youth Contender 2026 Priyanuj Bhattacharyya.
He will now face third seed Snehit Suravajjula in the semifinals. In the other semifinal, fifth seed Akash Pal will face Payas Jain.
Pal and Jain will also face each other in the men’s doubles final. Pal, partnering Mudit Dani, defeated wild card entrants Ronit Bhanja and Oishik Ghosh 8-11, 11-8, 11-8, 11-8.
In the other semifinal, Payas Jain and Ankur Bhattacharjee defeated Harmeet Desai and Snehit 9-11, 11-9, 3-11, 11-8, 11-5.
Harmeet will, however, have a chance to bag the mixed doubles crown as he and Yashaswini defeated Raegan Albuquerque and Suhana Saini 11-9, 11-7, 11-8.
In the other semifinal, Jain and Syndrela defeated Ankur Bhattacharjee and Taneesha Kotecha 11-6, 11-8, 12-10.
