IndianOil UTT Season 6: Jaipur Patriots Look to Keep Momentum Going vs U Mumba TT; Stanley’s Chennai Lions, Ahmedabad SG Pipers Eye First Win
Ahmedabad, June 4, 2025: Jaipur Patriots will face U Mumba TT in IndianOil Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT) Season 6 on Thursday at 5 PM, with the two teams aiming to carry forward their winning momentum after recent success. Later, at 7:30 PM, Stanley’s Chennai Lions take on Ahmedabad SG Pipers, as both sides hunt for their first victory of the campaign. The ties will be live on Star Sports Khel, Star Sports 2 Tamil, and JioHotstar.
Staged under the aegis of the Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) and promoted by Niraj Bajaj and Vita Dani, IndianOil UTT continues to grow as a premier professional league. All 23 ties, over 16 action-packed days, will take place at Ahmedabad’s EKA Arena, with tickets available only on BookMyShow.
Jaipur Patriots return high on confidence after steamrolling to an 8-0 lead in their last tie. Captain Kanak Jha–USA’s top-ranked men’s paddler–found top gear, while Indian ace Sreeja Akua is in red-hot form with two back-to-back wins. Sreeja’s potential match-up with U Mumba’s Bernadette Szocs or Yashaswini Ghorpade could prove decisive, while her chemistry with Jha in doubles gives Jaipur added edge.
U Mumba, though, are buzzing after a 10-5 win. Led by World No. 12 Bernadette Szocs and Frenchman Lilian Bardet, both unbeaten, they’ve found their rhythm early. Yashaswini Ghorpade adds firepower and could be in for a cracking duel with Sreeja. Doubles ace Akash Pal and rising stars Swastika Ghosh and Abhinandh PB round out a unit that’s built to strike hard.
In the evening fixture, Stanley’s Chennai Lions will look to convert promise into points after falling short in both previous outings. Trailing 0-8 in their last tie, they clawed back six games—an effort that could prove vital in a league where winning games matter. Chinese paddler Fan Siqi has looked composed, while captain Kirill Gerassimenko is due for a breakthrough after a heartbreaking 3-0 loss to Kanak Jha, all on Golden Points. Former World Youth No. 1 Payas Jain has impressed and will be looking to add to his form in a potential match-up against Germany’s Ricardo Walther.
Ahmedabad SG Pipers, also winless, face a similar challenge. Walther has shown flashes of brilliance, particularly in doubles alongside Ayhika Mukherjee, but they’ll need more consistency across the board. Ayhika and Snehit Suravajjula will be eager to make a mark, as will Italian debutant Giorgia Piccolin.
